Assault Forward at the National Memorial Day Parade

Welcome! Since this is our first blog post, we wanted to cover a couple of topics. First, our participation in the National Memorial Day Parade and how we plan to use this blog in the future.

National Memorial Day Parade:

We launched our business in March of this year, so we were extremely humbled that this early on we were able to become an official sponsor for the National Memorial Day Parade in Washington, DC, which is organized by the Americans Veteran Center. For those that don’t know, the parade in DC is the largest Memorial Day Parade in the country. Even though Memorial Day itself is a day of remembrance for our fallen brothers and sisters, it was an amazing feeling meeting other Veterans and business leaders who value and respect the sacrifice of our Armed Forces. From beginning to end, the parade was perfectly executed and a fun time for all involved.

We had a table set up adjacent to the food tent and were able to tell our story to a large number of parade attendees. We handed out promotional items such as tote bags and koozies; it was an exhilarating feeling seeing our logo and company name in the hands of so many people. Overall, we had a great time and hope to have the opportunity to participate in the future.

Future Blog Posts:

Since we have 3 Co-Founders, we’ve decided to rotate the blogging duties on a weekly basis. My blog posts will be focused on the journey of Veteran entrepreneurship as we experience it. Things that are going well, things that aren’t going so well in the business, etc will be what I intend to highlight. Ideally, my vision is for other Veteran entrepreneurs (regardless of where they are in the process of their business) to be able to come here and read about successes and roadblocks that they might be encountering as well. Of course, that’s my plan but we all know what Mike Tyson said back in the 80s: “Everyone has a plan till they get punched in the face”.

Please share your thoughts and feedback with us. We’d love to hear from you. Until next time, continue to Assault Forward!
